Panther Packs - May 2024

Can you believe that we are just getting into spring but summer is quickly approaching.  How do I know that, because we are   packing the last month of meals for the school year.

We got good news from the Central PA Conference.  We apply with the Central PA UMC conference, for a particular grant each year.  Over the past few years we have been blessed to receive $3,000 each year.  Good news is that we did get approved for the grant again this year.  However, we only received $1,000 this year.  Funds were greatly reduced at the conference level and there were 20 more agencies that requested funds this year.

We have seen reduced funding starting in 2023, not in hundreds of dollars but thousands.  As you know from buying groceries, food prices continue to rise. Reduction in funds and increases in product cost equate to limiting what we can or will be able to do in the Panther Packs ministry.  Could you help bridge the gap between our funding needs and product cost, by making a       donation to Panther Packs?

It’s time to express a special thank you to all of you for your continued support, whether it is with your prayers, gifts, bag folding, packing, or whatever part you have played… Thank you!!  I would like to also express a special thank you to the Panther Packs Team, those who lead the Pantry team, Set Up team, Finance people, Distribution team, Cloth Bag Team and Administration… Thank you!!

Our final packing night is May 1st.  We will be packing for five weeks for May.  Packing starts at 6:00 PM.
