Going back to school, during a pandemic?! Many of you, if you haven’t already, are gearing up for another school year. This year brings particular challenges, unlike ever before. So many plans,

changes, and requirements have been placed upon not only the students but also the teachers, administrators, coaches, and parents. One thing is for sure, this year will not look like years past. However, that doesn’t mean it will look bad.

Psalm 46 reminds us that God is in control. He “is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” So even during the uncertain times, we know we have God on our side. I encourage you to remember His power and authority in our lives. When you enter the school halls this year, you have the ability to make it a good day. Besides, with God on your side, who or what could be against you?

However, undoubtedly there will be moments where you feel overwhelmed or frustrated. In fact, if you’re anything like me, you’ll begin to formulate nasty tension headaches from overthinking and analyzing the situation. But, verse 10 of Psalm 46 reminds us to “be still and know that I am God.” In these situations, we need to take a deep breath, and remember that God is in control. Say a quick prayer, ask Him for peace and understanding, it’s sure to help. I know that each and every one of you are capable of achieving so much & can have a successful school year with the right attitude.

In the news of Youth group, we will continue to monitor the COVID situation and restrictions placed on gatherings. We are excited to begin meeting again but are hoping to allow schools a chance to get started & see how things go from here. Our trivia night was a great success and we’re so glad so many of you logged on to participate in the game! So, keep your ears open & your prayers strong, news about Youth group is sure to come soon!

Wishing you all the best as you start school!
