We hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer and are finding creative ways to beat the scorching heat. For as crazy as this year has been, we’ve sort of appreciated the normal rise in temperatures and humidity. The actual “feel” of
summer. Of course, the mask wearing and social distancing protocols help to snap us back to the unfortunate reality. However, with the school year approaching, we’re hoping to set at least a tentative plan for Youth Group.
To help bridge the gap between school starting and the last few weeks of summer, we’ve decided to host a virtual YOUTH-FAMILY TRIVIA GAME NIGHT via Zoom & Kahoot. Both online platforms allow us to gather from the distance of our homes and participate in a generational trivia battle between youth members and their parents. The game session will be held on August 16th at 7:00 pm. Individuals and families wanting to participate will need to RSVP to Leslie to ensure they receive the link to the Zoom meeting & game.
Lastly, although we’re unsure of the exact details or if things pan out, we wanted to remind our members about the “Youth Kick-off Cabin Retreat”. The Shearer-Yocum family has graciously invited us back to enjoy a weekend at the cabin. The tentative dates for this trip are September 11-13th. As things progress and COVID-19 continues we will update you all with more information. But for now, mark your calendars for the weekend of fun!
As always, we welcome any youth to participate in our activities and events. This includes rising 6th-grade students! Please reach out to Leslie or Michael for more information or to be added to the group text/alert chain! We would LOVE to have you!
Peace and Blessings,
Leslie & Michael
