When the song of the angels is stilled
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock, The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost.
To heal the broken, To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among brothers and sisters,
To make music in the heart. Howard Thurman
This writing by Howard Thurman reminds us of the reality of “living out” Christmas. God has given us so much, primarily His Only Son. We have enjoyed the many blessings of Christmas. But Christ’s coming was just the beginning. As we have received God’s gift, may we be generous in sharing with others.
We also recognize that the Christmas season culminates in the coming of the Wise Men, celebrated on Epiphany. They brought their gifts to the Christ Child and worshipped Him. Again, we are reminded to worship and respond by giving.
We will celebrate Epiphany on Sunday, Jan. 3 at 5:00 in God’s Lot. We will have a live nativity as part of our service and a time to sing Christmas Carols and light candles. Please join us for this special event.
