Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1
As the above Scripture states, there are many parts in the body of Christ. God designed each of us uniquely. We each have a distinct offering to make. I'm glad for the variety I find among my brothers and sisters in the Church. Our different gifts and talents add to a wonderful ministry to those within and outside the faith community.
It has amazed and sometimes saddened me that many are unaware of the special contribution they can make. It's for this reason I've offered, and will do so again, a class on Spiritual Gifts. On November 14, we will explore the gifts listed in the Bible. We will learn of our own giftedness. This process helps us realize our particular uniqueness and ways we might contribute in our Church and Community. This awareness gives us the capacity to say "Yes" when called to serve. It also allows us to faithfully say "No" so that we are not over-committed and others have a chance to share as well.
Please consider joining us for this class in the Social Hall on Saturday, November 14th. This workshop will start at 9:00AM and continue until approximately 5:00PM with an hour lunch break on your own. I look forward to seeing you then.
Please let the Church Office know if you are interested in attending this workshop.
